Agreed. And that's part of what made it such a great episode.

What happened to him again? Was it when their lil escape pod was under water and he ran out of oxygen?

Yea, there was only enough oxygen for one of them to make it to the surface. He gave it to Gemma and busted the glass before she could stop him and got brain damage as a result.

What really sucks for him is Fury was pretty much about to rescue them when he did that.

Yes it was, something didn't seem right the whole time and then they hit you with this jab to the heart with the reveal towards the end of the episode.

I like how they are coming out the gates with super powered villains. They seem to be doing a good job with absorbing man so far. Hopefully they can keep it up as they introduce more characters.

Definitely a much darker tone so far, I'm hoping Lucy Lawless continues to be in the show.

I think they are setting up Fitz for a breakdown and Simmons will have to talk him off the ledge so to speak.

I also think Simmons left bc she couldnt take the guilt of Fitz condition.

possibly

there is no way she had zero clue about his feelings for her and his attempted sacrifice to save her came pretty much right after she had been openly flirting Triplett.

From what I remember, the Forever Crystal is of Kree origin. Immortus did possess it, but I think later it was used by the Kree.

But again, the Forever Crystal is a shot in the dark guess

He basically drowned and had no oxygen to his brain for the amount of time it took to get to the surface, get them into the aircraft, and get him to the medical personnel.

It wouldn't surprise me if he actually died and they had to use the GH-325 to bring him back, but didn't have the memory altering equipment they used on Coulson.

If they're going that route, does Dum Dum Dugan make an appearance in the present day having not aged? (They could frame it so that Carter and Morita never took the serum when offered because of their families)

Yeah from the way it looks maybe he had some sort of stroke because of the lack of oxygen to his brain. Severity always differs but the side effect he has is exactly what my grandmother has. He just has trouble communicating what he already knows. Speech is something stroke victims always struggle with.

This will definitely be the case when he finally realizes he's just talking to himself and she's not really there.

No. Coulson just said she left bc she felt Fitz's recovery would be better if she wasnt there. I dont think thats the real reason but that was what was said.

No mention where she actually is.

I'm still suspicious of her.
