The only reason Jennings got the nod over Harris.

Jennings had a better grasp of the offensive playbook.

Yes or no?

Because the decision to start Jennings was certainly not based on talent.

Yes. You could tell as much in the Wisconsin game.

Throwing him to the wolves doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Ease him in there. Maybe he takes over at some point this season, but I don't think starting him now is the answer.

Yes.

I firmly believe that if Harris came in during fall practice and knew the playbook he would be the guy. He's young. You can't expect him to know all the inner workings of an College/NFL playbook.

We aren't winning a title this year. I still think we can rattle off some wins and maybe luck into the Peach Bowl or maybe the Cap-1. But I want to do it with Harris

Which is what we thought would happen anyways. At least the sane ones.

Totally agree.

As a fan I willing to be patient with Harris and take the mistakes due to inexperience. Those mistakes will dwindle as Harris gains more experience and the season progresses.

Not everyone is Jarrett Lee. Some guys know how to let go of failure.

Is our playbook that hard to master? Really?

New Mexico St. are not wolves. Les Miles has a perfect opportunity this weekend to "ease" Harris in.

Hindsight is 20/20. People didn't think JJ and Lee would be as bad as they were after their freshman seasons.

Maybe not, but Auburn is.

I don't think that it is at all. I think the Miles and Cam fear turnovers that Harris will commit. Jennings has been pretty good a protecting the ball.

That said, I think we are nearing a point in which it does not matter. You have to play the guy that can put points on the board with the understanding he is also going to turn it over (look at Manziel the last two years for instance - he turned it over, but he also lit up the scoreboard).

that's my question

i mean with the i-form twins we ran saturday, it doesn't exactly show that our coaching staff trusts jennings' reads and grasp of the playbook

Seems like that would take about 10 minutes to learn.

if this was a year when LSU was expected compete for SEC/NC then i'd say maybe stick with jennings.

but since this season is pretty much done i say throw him in there. let him throw some picks and make mistakes and get better for '15.

You're seeing the glass half empty. What if Harris has a breakout game against Auburn? The confidence and psychological boost that would be gained by Harris would be off the charts.
