Overkill or appropriate celebration considering the 14 year drought of wins?

Ole Miss took out an ad in the paper one time.

Beating LSU is a BIG deal.

imagine what some of you would do if LSU went 0-14 against bama and beat them...it would dwarf a fricking scoreboard cake

I see nothing wrong with this. Three years after we beat Florida in 97 Walmart was still selling the shirts

There's competitive balance in a rivalry. LSU is something like 50-14 against them since 1958.

Both teams in the Iron Bowl are pretty much .500 since 1984.

LSU was 0-14-1 (or something like that) against Bama in Tiger Stadium from 1969-1998. When we finally beat them in 2000, we rushed the field and tore down the goal posts against a Bama team that was 3-5 and on probation.

Good for them. Big win for their program. Probably saved Mullin's job. Let's see how they do against the other West opponents.

my point exactly

I'd say a scoreboard cake is pretty "meh" compared to that nonsense

Strangely, we beat them in Tuscaloosa/Birmingham for some of those years.

They still play well in Tiger Stadium just as LSU plays well in Tuscaloosa. It's quite a road team dominated series.
