First "misconception" and I already hate this douchey motherfricker and his douchey video, because he didn't even debunk the misconception correctly. (The two terms have been used interchangeably since pretty much forever.)

EDIT: And the "hiatus" debunk is extra-retarded because it references Cowtan & Way "using the satellite data" when the satellite data C&W used was UAH, which also has a hiatus. Douchechills.

Oh really?

Here's a scenario:

You had 2 identical worlds and an infinitely accurate thermometer. One is the control and in the other world is the same except I drive my car around the block a few times.

As you know (and as it is unanimously agreed upon) that the byproduct of an internal combustion engine's combustion is carbon....in this case it is in the form of carbon dioxide. So in burning fossil fuel, we are releasing more CO2 in atmosphere 2.

It is unanimously agreed upon that carbon (including carbon dioxide) "traps heat" or it prevents heat from escaping the atmosphere. Again, these two points are not debatable. There is more CO2 in atmosphere 2.

So if you just burned fossil fuel, and put more CO2 into the atmosphere (and remember CO2 prevents heat from escaping the atmosphere) will your infinitely accurate thermometers read the same temp? No. World 2 will be warmer.

You can argue the degree to which man is altering the earth's climate, but you can't argue it's not happening.

So plant more trees and less CO2 will make it into atmosphere.

Air Force one emits more CO2 on one flight than I personally will contribute to in 20 years.

What's your answer? Tax the middle class more? My household makes around 100k/year. My tax rate sucks. I'm taxed everywhere. I don't qualify for any subsidy on healthcare. I truly believe people who make between 50k and 100k get hammered more than anyone and now you tree jiggers want to tax me more because you think it will save the planet if I'm taxed on how much I drive? Get a fricking clue.

Seems reasonable but, while we are figuring out what degree of warming is caused by humans, can we please try to uncover the cause of the warming of the planet after previous ice ages prior to the burning of fossil fuels?

Inquiring minds want to know.

TIA

Here's another scenario. Your post reads like your first grader logged onto your account and posted that. At least that's what I hope happened.

That is actually true. Not with climate per se, but at least with some impact.

The question is whether the "degree" is even measurable.

One person adds heat to a large air conditioned room, but the change is indiscernible. However, crowd enough people into that room, and the body heat will warm it noticeably.

Veritasium is by no means a 'douchey motherfricker'...the guy puts science in the hands of lay people and actually explains it so that its easy to understand.

how bout you not be such a cocksucker simply because the guy didnt put together every fricking piece of information out there in the ether to explain the 'hiatus' in a 6 min video.
