But according to the same sex marriage supporters on this site this isn't supposed to ever happen.

quote:

A survey released Monday from the Pew Research Center indicates American support for same-sex marriage could be leveling off after several years of dramatic growth in acceptance of equal rights for gays and lesbians.

The study's authors caution it's too soon to draw any definitive conclusions. But the new released Monday found a 5 percentage point drop since February, from 54 percent to 49 percent, in Americans who want legal recognition for same-sex relationships.

Of course, it will increase again once the old farts and boomers die off though.

Not if the generation behind the millennials isn't in support.

I think I am Jesus because every time I go back to someplace everyone says, "Jesus Christ, why are you back again?"

Does the poll discern between marriage and civil unions? Just curious because of our good friend semantics.

I can't say for sure because I only read the article.

However, I assume it's just dealing with same sex marriage.

There was also this
:

But according to some of the same sex marriage supporters on this site, the support for same sex marriage was never going to go back below 50% for any reason.

well 49% is within margin of error of 54%.

Polls are fickle, and its not unusual to see a variation of a few percent over time.
