Recently ditched the iPhone for the above phone. I'm far from a phone/tech guru. Any apps, etc. that are musts for a droid, and this one in particular? For example, I currently have 2 texting apps, one Verizon and the other samsung. Which is best? And which keyboards do you recommend bc the stock one sucks.
Yes I've googled some but I like the back and forth of this message board better.
TIA

I've had mine for about a week, and haven't had any issues...

The fact that I can get free music without unlocking it is worth the switch.

Mine crashes a ton, is unresponsive, full of bloatware, and the build quality is awful. The phone blows. The camera is the tits, though.

Galaxy S5 Toolkit

This should allow you to do a lot with the S5. I have an S4 so I cant really help you out with the specifics.

I'm loving mine. I do wish I knew how to get rid of the bloatware.

- Force Stop / Turn off bloatware
- Use Hangouts for your texting
- Chrome browser
- Download pushbullet and use it with Chrome on your desktop
- Use Shuttle for local music and Google Music for cloud music
- Check out Milk for streaming radio (I prefer Pandora but some people like Milk)
- If you like podcasts, pocket casts (worth paying)
- If you like reddit, use redditnews or redditisfun
- Use Google Calendar instead of Samsung Calendar
- Download Google Survey Rewards app, will give you free playstore credit for answering easy surveys

There's tons more but that's it off of the top of my head. Lots of people hate Samsung, but I've had my GS4 for almost two years and I love it (although will probably go with a different manufacturer next time).

Even with a root it's a pain to get rid of bloatware.

Use greenify to auto hibernate or stop those apps.
