Watching this team the last few seasons it is apparent we are losing to many top linemen to our SEC competition. Why is this? Is Les' big ten ground and pound philosophy starting to hurt him? Or is it all the early departures, or both?

Prime example of this is Greg over at Gumpville. Dude is starting and beating people bad as far as I can see.

I have heard a lot about our DT recruiting in particular and I just dont see how anyone can determine how good or bad guys like Herron, Bain, Gilmore, or godchaux will be. They are freshman who have played a grand total of 4 college games. Having said that, the OL sure leaves a lot to be desired.

On the DL Herron, Gilmore and Bain have not stepped up. Either they were overrated coming out of high school and/or they are having difficulty adjusting to the college game for one reason or another. Valentine? Well, we know that story.

Exactly. I'm not a Les hater, but I think he is losing ground. I just hope he doesn't turn LSU into Tennessee.

Your post is a prime example of the rant's ignorance.

It's funny you should say that. Quite a few LSU fans that I know feel that this is exactly what is going to happen unless Miles is willing to change. The loss to LSU in the 2001 SECCG was the beginning of UT's slow decline. It's 13 years later and they still haven't regained their footing in the SEC race. I don't want that to happen to us.
