Looking to buy a cooler to put fish in. Typically I fish for redfish and have no more than 3 people in my boat, for a limit of 15 reds. What size cooler would be best for 15 reds and potentially a few drum or sheepies?

Thanks

Maybe a 100-120 quart to be safe. I have a 72qt Coleman that has done just fine though. Here is the Coleman with 75 trout, 6 reds and 6 bass and 20lbs of ice and then 10 reds and ice

i dont know how to make the pics smaller

Myself, Elusiveporpi and my dad put that one together this past winter. It was a good day

Large regular igloo is all that I use, and the fish keep fine in an ice slush overnight and into the next day. Their getting that cold helps to filet them. You do not need a Yettie.

The advantage of the yeti IMO is it won't break handles and latches and hinges like the others do. But definitely isn't necessary.

I have a 70qt marine coleman xtreme that I really like. Stainless hinges. It was only $55. They make a 120 too that would be a great fish fish cooler for the boat.

You need more ice, podna.

I'd recommend a 120qt...whatever brand you decide on is up to you.

That was 20lbs of ice, fish were caught a sub 45* day and we're cleaned by noon. More wouldn't hurt but for the conditions, it worked just fine.

I sized mine to my boat so that it formed a walkway connecting the front and back decks without having to step up and down.

Not looking to spend that much. Looking at Coleman xtreme 120 and igloo super tough stx. Anyone have any experience with either of those? Would I be able to stand on either one without messing it up. I weigh 175

Looks like that Coleman gets great review on ice retention.
