I fished From 630 till about 1000 am and only got one rat red. But it was the first red on the paddleboard so I was somewhat excited. Talked to one fella at the beach and he had two nice specks in the cooler. So hopefully we will have more come in soon!!

The water was really clear actually still kinda fresh though. I don't understand why with the basin being so low. But I guess we have been getting a lot of rain

I'm assuming the rain isn't helping. When I was last there it was very fresh and extremely dirty.

Caught 2 reds in the island, then came back in and got one red in shark bayou. Not sure why the water isnt good yet inside. Its real clear and real fresh.

I was thinking about trying to fish there this fall out of my kayak. I've never been before though. I heard that is gets better in the fall and improves as the basin gets lower.

Is the only place to launch with a yak at the state park? I read that it doesn't open until 7:00 am.

The lil pay booth doesn't open till seven your just have to pay when u leave. There isn't a gate to keep u out
