I'm pretty sure that there is a near-consensus on the board wrt to Welter. No need to beat it into the ground just for TigerLee's sake.

There's a difference between Welter's assisted tackles and most other MLB's assisted tackles. For the others, they fight off a block and get a hand on the ball carrier to slow them down and then get help from teammates to bring them down. For welter, he gets blocked out of the play then once one of his teammates engages the ball carrier welter runs over to "help" get them down.

Hence the reason he only has 3 solo tackles.

Welter is the wet napkin of our D. Cant get off a block to save his life and everyone knows it. That is why they run right at the middle.

You can have three all world LB's but if you don't have the DT's it's not gonna matter.

Some of those teams have different schemes that has them to rely on their LBs more, but even then things should not be this bad here.

Honestly, at times it seems like he actually holds on to the blocker. I've never really seen anything like it. He will seek out a blocker and engage, but not try to push off. It's odd.

.

So why does our backup have similar stats behind the same DL as our starter while playing way way less?

Yea you are right some of those teams play a nickel more like Ole Miss and their LB is removed from the field.

This has been a problem since last year. How he still plays baffles me. I can only shake my head and ask
'Why?"

Those numbers tell me Beckwith should be on the field a lot more.

Stats! who gives a f*** about that stats. stats are very misleading. where are these tackles taking place 20 yards down the field or 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage? People can stick stats up the arse.
