Thinking of switching to Verizon
Posted by corndawg85 on 9/22/14 at 8:17 am00
I currently have C-Spire (Mississippi Carrier). Now that I live in Baton Rouge I'm thinking of switching to a better carrier with better service down here. Anybody got any positives/negatives with Verizon? Looking into purchasing the $60 single line plan (2GB of Data, Unlimited Voice and Text)

I have Verizon and love it. Works really well in the Baton Rouge area.

Verizon in most areas is hands down best carrier for service quality.
In terms of plan pricing, you will get absolutely hosed. If you are on a family plan I'd look at ATT first. If you own your own phone you get a discount which can make a sizeable difference in your bill for multiple people

I got it, live in Nola but parents live in Baton Rouge, I have yet to have an issue. Make the SWITCH. I hear they pay for you to leave your current contract.

I have Verizon because hands down it is the best service available. I've travelled across the country and have never had a problem with the service.
Now you do pay for that as I think Big Red is the most expensive mobile provider....they will also inevitably piss you off one day when they delay releasing a phone you are looking forward to or don't release an OS version you are looking for until 6-8 months after it releases....but with all that said I still live with it because I've used T-Mo, ATT, and Sprint and none compare to the level of service I get with VZW.

Verizon here, best service in the southeast. Great rural coverage, I go to some crazy arse middle of the nowhere places to get to some of our dams and still can make calls. Only reason I keep them...
I am not a big fan of what they get in the Android line up. Hate the only Nexus that came to Verizon went so poorly, love the Nexus line.

Verizon has almost exactly the same price structure. The only reason to pick AT&T is if they have phones you want and their service coverage meets your needs.

I think the next Nexus may come to Verizon - and it may be moot, down the line, as Verizon is moving away from CDMA. I was concerned about what this will do to coverage in rural areas, but the rapid rollout suggests the're VoLTE coverage may almost match their current coverage.

Verizon has the best service, hands down
I would avoid going on contract
bring a phone with you, get off of craigs list or something like that
A lot of these ifixit places have used phones for sell
