We have a young team that is also very talented but it's going to take time for them develop into their "potential".

The SECW is the toughest division in College football. I think this is an undisputed fact.

We can either embrace it's awesomeness or we can let it make us all bitter and live in fear "We're gonna lose again". That steals the joy. Sure, at LSU we have come to expect victory every night. I don't think that has changed in the big picture.. We won't settle and that's not my point.

With this young team, our expectations should be lowered and our hope higher than ever.

We have the best staff we've ever had that I can recall under Miles... Just trust them...Loses can make you better, we learned that with Jimbo breaking in JR.

Quote from Jimbo I think in 05

"Today, we learned we're actually a pretty good passing team and really is the strength of our team, unfortunately it took us 7 games to figure that out"

Our young players have me filled with excitement.

Have a grass smoothie and chill...

The college football gods can be a cruel bunch. Rooting for one team is like getting in a relationship. Every now and then it works out for the best, but usually you're setting yourself up for major heartbreak.

This one hurts, but it's all part of being a fan. I'm still glad I get to watch football every week.

There are 22 starters on the team. You just listed 16, 3 of which are underclassmen. If someone took the time to put together a list of underclassmen receiving playing time, it would be significant.

The simple fact is that our experienced units were destroyed last night as well. We're not as young as LSU fans want to believe.

This is probably the same statement that Tennessee and Florida fans tell themselves every weekend.

Honestly, what happened to this fanbase?

Thats the truth, this is bound to happen when you lose so many juniors to the NFL every year. It'll be fun to watch these freshman and sophomores progress!

I like that we have high expectations and find such a loss unacceptable. I know the players feel the same way. The boo birds were few in number. That is a good thing. The crowd was amazing at times. My ears are still ringing from the volume. But like many others on here, I did not expect so many missed assignments on our part. Nor did I expect Miss State to be quite that good. I bet there will be some "quality" practices this week.

Good post

Let's look a little closer at the youth

Who is starting at DT? A true Freshman, right?
Next to him is a sophmore...

And all the guys behind these two DT's have many starts? ZERO! Ok thomas but he is injured

What is killing the defense? "Soft up front"

Ok, so the youth in this critical position is big problem. the NFL took us dry! both Freak and Ego would be seniors right?

the DB's are young and very talented...

On the offense

We just sent our core to the NFL, QB, RB, WR and WR

plus a right guard...we set records last year...

when 17 true Freshmen are seeing a lot of playing time, that's a tale tale of "young team"

Just my opinion.

BTW: I can't believe Rasco is a senior, that doesn't look right

Texas A&M lost their top 3 WRs, a 1st round draft pick at OT, a 1st round draft pick at TE, and a Heisman winning QB. Their current QB is in the same class as Jennings, and had less experience than him coming into the season, yet they currently have the #2 offense in the country.

Great point! I think we need to go with Harris in shot gun and see what happens!

With that, Sumlin is 0-2 against the Hat..

After last night, if things don't change, they will beat us by 3 TDS
