Nexus 7 replacement

I stepped on my nexus 7 version2 today. What is the best replacement for it? I have an Ipad 3, but I like the smaller talbet as well because I use it as navigation and radio in my boat (off air/Wifi only). Tablet must have gps. Any suggestions, or should I just buy another nexus 7? I also use it for browsing and reading.

Nvidia Shield tablet is supposed to be pretty solid. Nexus 7 again would also be good choice.

I looked into replacing the screen, but the reviews on replacement screens are not very favorable. I guess I will hang tight for a month and see what is available then.
Kind of a crappy design that the tablet is fully functional with the exception of the touch sensitivity not working. At least with an ipad you can still use the tablet with a small crack in the screen.
