Me and the fellas are headed that way for the Saints game sunday night, and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions in regards to some good BBQ and Mexican spots in and around the WestEnd area of Downtown?

Also looking for a good steakhouse in that area.

TIA

You'll have more luck if you expand your area to Deep Ellum or even uptown. West End is very touristy in my view

Pappas Bros. is the go to steak joint in that area, all though there are plenty of others just as good and just as over priced, go to El Fenix in the West End, steady standard Tex-Mex, I think that one is the original one, Sugar Baby's for BBQ, but there's so many places to choose from

I have no clue. Just always see the sign on the building.

Haven't eaten there since they were last changing hands. To the credit of the crew of the "Titanic," it was a decent experience. They were pros and already had jobs lined up. There's something wrong with that little area that decent restaurants can't make it there. I think the Spaghetti Warehouse will be there forever though.

Get out of downtown and go to Javier's, you'll kill two birds with one stone as its a Mexican restaurant with amazing steaks.

BBQ

Steak - Pappas is great and so is Nick and Sams. Also Bob's. They all have their fans and detractors.

Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum is one of the top BBQ places in the state. There is generally a line but wait times are not too bad.

For mexi, Mia's on Lemmon avenue for the brisket tacos.

There is not much worth doing or eating in the West End.

bro, do you even Texas Book Suppository? park in between it and the West end, tour it, and have a drink/appetizer before getting the hell out

If you have to do the TBD Tour thats fine. Then I would roll across the new bridge to Trinity Groves and hit one of the new places there.....Luck has good food and a great beer selection. You can actually walk across the river to Trinity Groves on the new Pedestrian Bridge. Nice views of the skyline and the New Caltrava Bridge from there.

Bout what....walking over the river? If the weather is nice its great to do that. It's a cool linear park on the continental bridge. They closed it to cars when the new bridge opened.
