Going for a touch down on fourth and goal from the one instead of a field goal, going for two twice when it made no mathematical sense.

This isn't "antiquated" offense, this is pure and simple misunderstanding of basic concepts of take the points you have. Hate the players all you want, this game is a draw at worst without these idiotic calls.

Nothing wrong with the call to go for it. You have to punch that in.

Explain the points Miss St. left on field when they went for it on 4th down at the 5 mathematical genius.

if we can't score against MSU from the 1 and/or stop MSU from scoring on a 99-yard drive, then it is our offense and defense

Yea, the rest of the game would have gone exactly the same if they would have taken those points.

You can argue going for the TD on 4th down, but going for 2 in both of those situations was the right call.

c'mon man, nobody hate the players. we love LSU and we love the Tigers.

I agree we left some points on the field. they would not have won the game but not scoring that first TD hurt bad. we just aren't a good enough running team to get it done against a front 7 like MSU's. I think miles knows that now.

Lol

LSU was down 24. 8+8+8=24

What was stupid was going for 2 down 12. That one was retarded.

They didn't, they kicked the PAT when they were down 12...they went for 2 when they were down 24 and when down 18. Both were the right call.

"I think Miles knows that now."

Now that is funny. Do you really think the stubborn Les Miles learned anything?

Dummy. I'm talking about the score after the TDs. Not before.

And going for 2 down 12 is NOT the right call.

Unless of course you are running right into a packed line and have been totally stuffed three times and then run the same play again. Go for it sure. But how about a little more imagination on play calls. The one thing we have is a mobile quarterback. Roll him out with a receiver in the end zone and let him pass or run it in.

At first glance. Then when you realize you've ran 3 plays and picked up nothing, maybe you should take the points and kill MSU's momentum.

You have to go for 2 at some point when you're down 18(12 after the TD), why wait?

ETA: You referenced 24 in the sentence before, how the frick was I supposed to know you were referencing the after TD score in the next sentence?

What made less sense was the LSU could be stopped at the end zone by MSU. Except they were manhandling the Tiger OL and the running plays Les Miles or somebody kept feeding them. What would have made more sense was to not keep pounding those same, same, same plays over and over and over, and to do something that opened things up. Like UAB did the week before versus the same MSU team. Was there potential for that to happen last night? Did anybody see a QB named Harris move the Tigers through the air in the 4th Qtr - and score practically at will - even if it wasn't MSU's first string defense in total?

Tell me more about the game you watched last night.

Because the one I watched had us run the option to the right on fourth down. You know, with our mobile quarterback.

I love hindsight, too. Still should punch that in.

Going for 2 the first time was absolutely the right call.

ETA: I wanted us to take the 3 points early in the game though.

I'm not mad at all going for it on 4th down, i'm mad that we did the same play with small variations 4 times over from the 2 and inside.

Yes, lets not take advantage of Dural or Dupre against much smaller CBs.
