It appears that Harris will be
Does it matter that much that Mett was a transfer? Certainly he wasn't elite in 2011 when he arrived or he would have been playing.

2005 - Jamarcus Russell, recruited by Saban
2006 - Jamarcus Russell, recruited by Serbian
2007 - Flynn, recruited by Saban
2008 - Perilloux, dismissed; Jordan Jefferson
2009 - Jordan Jefferson/ Jarrett Lee
2010 - Jordan Jefferson/ Jarrett Lee
2011 - Jordan Jefferson/ Jarrett Lee
2012 - Zach Mettenberger
2013 - Zach Mettenberger
2014 - Anthony Jennings

So you're essentially limiting yourself to 2 QBs... good job framing the question so that there's no option but to prove your point.

Apparently he wasn't that polished when he got here if he couldn't unseat Jefferson and Lee...

we've recruited more than 2 Qbs in that time

hell, 2 QBs transferred this single offseason

You'd have to also throw in QB's who didn't play or transferred. Garrett, Rettig, Rivers...

Evidently we're missing on recruiting or development.

Which makes them ineligible, doesn't it? Or is Derek Mason not developing Stephen Rivers? Andrew Hatch transferred to Harvard. Sure he got some development there, which made him ineligible.

He wasn't developed very much by Georgia or his JUCO either. If he had been such a great polished passer, he'd of started over Lee his first year, and wouldn't have looked like arse in 2012. If it wasn't for Cam last year, Mett wouldn't have played nearly as well as he did.

If that's the case then the OP needs to be more clear about his criteria. As far as I'm concerned, if a player transfers then another coach becomes responsible for his development.

Went back just now to look at recruiting ratings. JJ and JL were the only QBs signed from 2006-2008. 2009 we got Russell Shepard, who EVERYBODY missed on with evaluations, 2010 we were counting on Zach Lee, who opted to go to the MLB, then in 2011 we got Rivers and Mett... 2012 Liggins didn't qualify, then we got Jennings and Harris in back to back years.

So I'd say the only one we really "missed" on was Rivers, who Mason thought was good enough to start for him for a few games. Otherwise, just some VERY, VERY bad luck with the Perilloux situation and with Zach Lee.

But being honest about it, having a OL coach as your OC is going to stunt QB development.
