Harris going to play both sides of the ball? The only thing more predictable than LSU Offense was the LSU Defense... The only thing weaker than our Offensive Line was our Defensive Line... We are weak up the middle on both sides of the ball. This is not an easy fix. And our schemes are old school football... It's just finally caught up this year because the superior talent we've enjoyed now plays on Sundays...

That's a very good point but we could have slowed them down some by keeping the football out of their hands. We need work on both sides of the ball.

harris could help sustain drives so you know... the defense isn't gassed?

2-13 on third down against MSU

I guess you don't believe sustaining drives would have helped out the defense?

Helped? Sure. Saved? Nah.

What does one have to do with the other? We realize there should be some roster shaking up on the defensive side of the ball too, but getting 0 momentum on offense really wears on a defense. But the defense didn't make Jennings look like total shite all night.

Defense can't stop if they can't get breathers.

The D was horrible as well. I really don't understand some of the personnel decisions that have been made on that side of the ball. I also don't understand some of the scheme that Chavis ran last night. Leaving 5 in the box with only 1 LB makes ZERO sense to me, especially when your front 4 is mediocre, at best.

Reducing the number of 3 & outs would help not only the defense but also let our punter rest his leg a little.

But, I know Les Schembechler loves a solid run, run, shite pass 3 & out.

when you prevent the offense from scoring on a long drive or hold them to 3 and then your offense goes 3 and out and repeat. Your defense will break. Especially when you are not rotating defensive linemen. Eventually you start to give up the big plays.

We have real personnel problems on both sides. Defense is most glaring and most concerning, for sure. The two halfway decent opponents we've played have gashed us.

Not getting that TD after 1st and goal at the 2 yard line and then letting them immediately go 98 yards down the field was an early nail in the coffin.
The defense was atrocious. Simply terrible.
We got schooled last night in every area of the game and it starts at the Top with Miles and his coordinators.
Simply humiliated on national TV by Mississippi State.

Do you really think the defense gives up 600 yards if our offense can move the ball. We started with two 3 & outs. If we get 3 first downs combined, that's a lot few yards for MSU right there. Try the math; I think you like it.

It explains a lot as to why LF looked so good in practice.

No way you can put that entire display of defense on offensive inadequacy. State dominated our D from start to finish.
