In the age of million dollar turf fields, here's a fine example of what a handful of dads and coaches can do for their kids on natural grass. Old school style is still awesome.

River Oaks In Monroe.

It is a nice field for sure. I did see my younger brother score 82 points on that field a couple of years ago.

State record for points scored between the two...not much defense that night.

You are right about that Otis.

At Glenbrook, we tried to model our program after River Oaks. Y'all are the standard for how a program should be built. Our problem is that certain members of the school will not put the right coach in their. We go through a 2-3 year coaching carousel.

I have a buddy that is a coach there at River Oaks. Lance Latiolas.

Otis,

He is doing good. He walked on and is redshirting this year. So basically he is just trying to play catch up and adjusting coming from a small private school to a college football program. He was asked to walk on at LSU and I pushed him to go there, but he wanted the chance to play and he knew he would never see the field at LSU. He is wanting to get into Coaching so hopefully one day, he will help get Glenbrook where they should be.

Thanks Otis, I saw y'all rolled up Riverdale. I bet the RF vs RO game will be just like always, winner takes district. I have not made any of the Glenbrook games this year because of work. We beat Central private last night at home but it was a close one. So far, we have beat Riverdale and Central private. I did notice that Cenla got skull dragged by ACCS. ACCS is a very strong team.

ACCS is loaded. But AA state title goes through Centreville.

Centreville is who knocked us out in the semifinals last year. They are so well coached. I wish they would split AA like they do AAA. It kills me that they split the smallest division in MAIS just so that every rich kid in Jackson can win a state championship in something.

where do the fans sit? I mean - if more than 1,000 show up? Is this in the woods?

Most stand along the fence. The bleachers on the home side is more then it appears in the pic.

This is not West Monroe, Rummel or some 5-A school. This is a 2-A school with a lot smaller population then most schools.

Played there several times. And track meets. Always liked RO, even being a PVA kid. Can't remember the coaches name now, but we would run into him around Monroe and he was always really cool to us.
