Yeah I usually report them when they are an obvious danger. Like this car that almost hit you. But I guess its cool you can just chuckle about it and reminisce.

No

I've only considered it once....was on the Florida turnpike during the middle of the day and some woman could not stay in her lane going 65. I eventually just gunned it around her and went on my way but she honestly went from over the end line to the center line and back every 10 seconds. And it was like 2pm as well...must have been pills.

If they are driving really erratically and dangerously and in a populated area or headed towards one, it's a good idea to get their plate memorized and call in the local Sheriff's Office or State Police and give them the Deets and maybe follow them if it's needed.

If I see one that looks like a risk to other people I'm reporting it. I couldn't live with myself if someone died because I didn't turn in an obvious drunk driver.

Honestly, I did one time and I have no idea what became of it. Sadly, most of the time I don't. Some nights driving late on I10, on the weekends, I seriously feel as if I'm taking my life in my hands.
I used to drink and drive in my younger days. Stupid. Like you, I'm lucky nothing ever happened. I am way too paranoid to drink and drive now and I can't believe I ever did it at all.

I only have once. I was driving through a snowstorm in the mountains in Kentucky and had an 18 wheeler swerving in and out of 3 lanes. Cops never did anything. Eventually he pulled over and I sped past him

reporting it might save someone's life

Yes. You might save a life or lives.

Did it on 20 West heading to Columbia. Guy was all over the road. Sped by him. Called the cops. About 10 min later I see blue lights in my read view. No idea if they got him of not

No I don't report drivers driving cautiously under the speed limit.
Posted on 9/20/14 at 7:46 am to Asgard Device
No, only because almost always calling the police creates more problems than it solves. I.e. The police find you and pull you over, or some rando on the interstate.

Reporting them is a little hard to do. You have to take your eyes off the road to fumble with your cellphone and dial 911. Plus you don't want to get too close to someone who's driving that badly, drunk or sober.

i would report them. if someone is visibly drunk then they should be forced off the road.
think of it this way, you're doing a favor for all those drivers who may blow over the limit despite not driving like a drunk idiot, so you're not being a dick or a douche by turning in the obviously drunk frickface.
eta:
good points. i've actually had my passenger phone in people before. get the license plate number and the GTFO.

Am I in the wrong for not reporting drivers that are obviously drunk?
