Doing alot of research and alot of information out there, but how much of it can you trust? Figured to see what some actual rates that people got are.
Weren't they in the 3's a couple years ago?
mine is 4.125% interest rate, total APR of 4.552%
anyone want to share?

what is this mortgage that you speak of
(your pretty close to what's out there, rates coming up a tad,but I see a lot of 3.99 available, 1/4 point is not worth a refi)

3.75 on a 30 year refi in mid 2012.
Original rate was 4.875 in April 2011. We got 1 1/8 points less a year later, with no app fee and no out of pocket expense/buying points.

I paid cash four years ago, because I'm retarded, and that's what retards do when interest rates are historically low and the stock market is exploding.
Others will be here soon to agree that cash is always king.

just make the additional principle payments and you'll in effect be getting a better rate

3.75%, May 2013.
Rates started creeping up literally the next week.

if you don't mind sharing, what was the original rate from 20 years ago?

Rates went down to around 3.5 right after we locked in at 3.75 (I think they went down before and they didn't tell us). Since nothing came out of pocket for the refi, I wasn't too upset.

you mean one additional payment a year?

nothing wrong with that, interest is a big killer of financial success, and being able to move from the proletariat
