Going there on my honeymoon the first week of November...

Staying at the RIU Palace...anyone have any experiences there?

What can we expect from the weather?

No experience with RIU. Do a search. Pretty good thread on Costa Rica last week on here.

We stayed in that area, but not at RIU Palace.

Some nice little restaurants in Coco. Hit up the Congo Canopy Trail for zip lining, it's not far outside of Coco. At the Congo Canopy Tour you can set up other things to do in that area as well.

Rius aren't bad places. My wife and I stayed at one for our honeymmoon in Aruba. They are consistnent. I have only stayed at Riu Palaces, so I guess I can't compare to their standard Riu resorts.
I stayed at the Riu Palace in Cabo this past spring for a work function. Food is decent enough and the drinks are plentiful.
This past summer I went to an Iberostar Grand in Playa Paraiso. I have to admit that it was leaps and bounds above the Riu. Top shelf liquor, the food was above agerage, and the staff was phenomenal. I felt that I needed to tip more frequently at the Iberostar given their excellent customer service.
