Neighborhood ducks

About 4 of these guys showed up in my subdivision about this time last year. Now there are around 14 of them.

About 90% sure that's whistlers. Could be Egyptian geese, but the pic isn't too clear.

I thought they were black bellied whistling ducks. I'm not duck expert though

Upon further investigation they do seem to be egyptian geese. They have a black spot on their chest and a ring around their neck.

They are pretty damn good but they are a little more difficult to pluck

yeah, they are good...typically leave here before duck season, though...

I had to look up egyptian goose, which is native to the African continent. I've never seen these in LA. What's up with that?
