My wife (no pics) ran into our garage door....yea i know

cost to fix the door is going to be like $1200 (door was $1500 new 2 years ago, go figure). Some scratches to the car, likely can be fixed easily (no body work).

I have a $500 deductible, is it worth it to file a claim if I am talking $1500 out of pocket?

Don't even call in to inquire

That's why you have insurance, isn't it? I've made a few claims with no increases on my payments.

Generally comp claims over $1000 and at fault accidents will get you a premium increase, and they stay on file for a minimum of 3 years... How much would you really be saving? Especially of there is an accident or ticket in the future

No, the insurance company is going to recoup that 1000 bucks

Damn love to know what auto company you are with that doesn't raise your premium on renewal after making several claims

I've hardly ever made a claim and that's why I've gotten steady decreases.
