I'm seasoning it at 930 and then stick it in tomorrow before work.
Any tips? Like adding liquids, etc, etc, etc
TIA

Simple suggestion -- Add a pack of Onion Soup Mix and add a cup of water. Let it roll till you get home. Enjoy...

There's enough moisture in the meat to do it without adding liquid. Some people add liquid, but not critical. I prefer doing it without liquid as it turns into a greasy mess. Rub it tonight and throw it in the crock pot in the morning. Nothing much to it.

^^^ This is VERY true. Listen to this guy. There is a LOT of juice in that butt.

Thank y'all! I was thinking the same thing. I'm going to slice an onion to layer the bottom and set the meat on top and let it roll. At lunch I'll scoop the liquid back onto the meat and add a lil b'que sauce then let it continue to roll until 4.

Sounds like a juicy butt

Rub it down with your favorite taco seasoning mix, add a Dos Eqis Amber and cook till it pulls apart. Serve on fresh tortillas with some crumbled qeso fresco.

Do y'all sear it before putting it in the crop pot?

I don't sear it. And most of the time I use a bone-in picnic roast instead of boston butt. Makes great bbq sandwiches. I cook it with the fat side up and it keeps the meat very moist. I dump it all in a strainer, pull/cut off the fat slab, remove the bones, and put it back in and stir it all up with some sauce and let it simmer another half hour or so.

Never done one in a crock pit, but I use a mix of 2 parts apple juice to 1 part apple cider vinegar when I foil butts on the BGE.

I do. Trim some of the fat cap off, apply dry rub, sear in large skillet, put in croc pot fat side up, let cook under internal temp = 190+

Did it once using a can of my favorite root beer. After done took out some of the fat, pulled and simmered with some bbq sauce for a bit.
Was good. No regrets.

Butt straight to the crockpot is a little too greasy imo.
