Aruba
It's not a party island, but they have some of the Worlds best beaches, and the people are great.
And you can fly to Bonaire for cheap(from Aruba), and get some of the best diving there is.
also, they just built a Ritz-Carlton on island, and the Rui bought the Westin. So the hotels will have to compete with those and keep their stuff up to date.
Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino has it's own private island you take a boat from the lobby and 2 sides, family and adult. Looked for boobies on adult side , and saw man thongs.

Caneel Bay
St. John, USVI
Went there for my honeymoon, have been back several times while visiting St. John. Resort has 7 beaches that are all pretty unbelievable. The resort also has 3 or 4 restaurants. Technology is limited as there are no clocks, phones, or TVs in your room.

Caneel Bay St John or Little Dix Bay Virgin Gorda, BVI are both very nice places in the Virgin Islands. Caneel is probably a little bit easier to get to.

I visited Little Dix Bay for a day when I stayed at Caneel. Beautiful Resort, but there is only one beach and Virgin Gorda doesn't compare to St. John imo.
I have heard that Bitter End Yacht club is pretty awesome on Virgin Gorda as the price includes free use of their fleet of sailboats and it includes free day trips to pretty much any location in the BVIs.

Bora Bora or Fiji are probably the best.

Forgot about Bitter End. I personally enjoy Virgin Gorda and the BVI's much more than the USVI, but Caneel is very nice as well and St. John is the only USVI worth going to. After going to many locations in the Caribbean I think the BVI/St. John really stand out because of all the different islands and day trips that are available. I would kill for a painkiller at Soggy Dollar about now.

If headed to the Pacific-
The Grand Hyatt in Kauai is phenomenal as is The Princeville St Regis.
Hyatt Maui is really nice.
Moorea and Bora Bora are world-class and pristine but it's pricey.
In SoCal (you can save on airfare) the St Regis @Monarch Beach is pimp-and I bet our Cali posters can tell you even better places.
