The Tigers are also No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the country in points allowed a game with 8.0, and LSU is No. 1 in the SEC and third nationally in total defense with 205.7 yards given up a game.

We just need a nice rotation at DT, with effective players, to make this defense the best in the land.

To soon to tell. We haven't played a high caliber offense yet

And the Badgers put up 281 yards of offense and led 24-7. Since that point, LSU is leading all opponents 108-0 while limiting them to 2.2 yards a play and forcing 22 punts.

WOW!!!

2.2 yards a play since the 3rd quarter vs Wisconsin.

I don't care that we've played 2 scrubs since, that's damn impressive.

Yeah, lets see what they can do against a real offense and a real QB...We caught a huge break when Wisky sat Gordon for whatever reason. We couldn't stop Gordon. Wisky also had to play a QB who had zero passing skills that game...Definitely way too soon.

Had nothing to do with our secondary, you right.

Senior strong safety Ronald Martin has been key with the defensive alignments being sounder than a year ago.

good for Martin. having Mills back there has seemed to have helped as well.

He had open receivers and made horrible throws. What about not being able to stop Gordon? The D was awesome against SH & ULM aka weak opponents.

This is wrong. We were stoning Gordon before he left the game. Wisconsin's run production had nothing to do with Gordon leaving the game. It had everything to do with LSU feeling more confidence in, and the necessity of, loading the box and manning up with the receivers.

Because you don't have an agenda.

And on Gordon, we were shutting him down his first few carries in the 2nd half before he got injured. It's Wisky's problem they didn't have a 2nd viable RB.

It doesn't matter who we've played. Two straight dominant shutouts is something not even the '11 or '07 team did once. I'm not saying that this defense is better because they aren't but we shouldn't ignore these accomplishments just because it was an inferior opponent.

EDIT: We shut state out in '07.

We had a good 2nd half against a good Wisky team who played with a shitty QB and without their best RB...You can't count SH & ULM...I hope our D is awesome, but it's just way too early to say they're. You disagree?

Wisky's QB was not horrible in the passing game?

His stats were bad, but you're conveniently and completely discrediting the possibility that our secondary is just that good.

Gets frustrating how Sam Houston is discounted. They score on everyone. They might give up 50+ but they score. A shutout against that offense is impressive

For those that believes that all of Wisky did was run the ball in the first half and suddenly started trying to throw the ball in the second half and that is why they lost... that is not true...

Go back and look at the play by play of the game and you will see that is not true...

In the first half Wisky ran the ball 23 times and Passed 13 but 4 of those rushes were actualy pass plays that the QB scrambled on and turned them into rushes..you take away those 4 rushes and add them to the Pass count which they were intended for you will see that Wisky was actually balanced in 19 rushes and 17 passes...

The second half Wisky rushed the ball 14 times to 9 passes...the difference was that after that long 63 yard run to start the 3rd Qtr the LSU defense shut down the run game...Wisky was no longer getting those long 1st and 2nd down runs...they were being forced into 3rd and longs and LSU started getting INTs

Also if you are in the belief that if they had let Gordon keep running the ball they would have won...wrong...Gordon and Clement were both getting equal carries in the first and second half of the game, Wisky was rotating them on drives...Gordon got one more carry (16) than Clement (15) in the game...

Everyone keeps saying Gordon only got 4 carries in the second half...well Clement only had 7...both were shut down after that 63 yard run...

Bottom line is Wisky kept doing what they were doing in the first half...the difference was after the Gordon's 63 yard run to set up that TD to start the 3rd there longest run from scrimmage was 5 yards and longest pass play was 9 yards the rest of the game, the QB was not able to break away and scramble to keep drives alive like in the first half and pressure was put on him to make throws and LSU made him pay for it with INTs...

I hope you're right. The db's certainly did look like world beaters the last 2 games for sure.
