Whether the threat is legitimate is beside the point. A simple if then statement will build my case:

IF Ebola threat is real
THEN we waited too long to act
ELSE why are we acting now?

What's the reason for acting precisely NOW? It's either A. incompetence or B. a convenient distraction from every other screw up and a nice easy issue to get everyone to rally around.

Since Obama is obviously the best president in history, the reason can't be A. Therefore the reason is B.

I'll wait for the hippie commies to respond.

Havnen't you read. This is Obama's plan. He is sending in troops to get infected and then they can come back home and infect the whole country. THEN martial law. And game on.

Should have known an IF THEN thread would scare the libs away.

Liberals live in a world of IFs devoid of THENs.

Because the chance of a 1st World outbreak has increased.

Reason?
This Ebola flare up involved more densely populated African locations than did those previous outbreaks.
Changes the epidemiology vs past episodes.

I will say, as I have all along, that the WHO and CDC downplaying nature of the contagion and its potential for spread was stupid.

Cannot blame Obama in particular.
His medical understanding (US HC system, healthcare logistics, US medical capacity, provider motivation, underlying science, etc) appears pathetic. Not his fault though. He has a lot on his platter, e.g., honing his golf game. His intellectual curiosity regarding our HC capabilities is nonexistent.

Obama likely has little concept as to the reduced EU HC capacity by comparison to our own, at least until full impact of the ACA takes place. His presumption could be that d/t proximity, EU HC would take lead in fighting the outbreak. The logic being that since the EU did not, the current outbreak must not be a big threat. In a way, the logic is sound, assuming the EU is as capable as they'd claim they are.

Here's a question to ponder:

If Ebola is such a threat, why are we not putting those 3000 troop on our borders?

No idea. However, to be effective, quarantines should be for both known, and potential, means for spread of infection.

So you're going with incompetence.

Funny how every new 'issue' that comes up is an Obama distraction.

Every. Single. One.

If a meteor were to be found in a collision course with the Earth, it would be created by Obama as a distraction.

Yep. If not a distraction, these folks would blame Obama for not having spotted the damn meteor with his own telescope 12 years ago. If he would not have been golfing, he could have spotted it.

I dis-like Obama a great deal, but the foaming at the mouth politards have lost their fcking minds.

Same here. I find myself defending Obama due to the sheer stupidity of this board.

FIFY

Which proposition sounds more reasonable? The one in the OP or the one quoted above? If "your side" can dish THAT, then they can take THIS. Thanks.

Holy fcking frick. Did you really pull this out of your arse for this argument?
You might could have found 10 crackheads in N.O. who believed some form of this quote. MIGHT.

That is nothing like every 5 post on this board being about some distraction/conspiracy or total slam on Obama about every thing that is reported on these days.
