I'm all for giving a one-time reparations package to any black person who wants them so long as they sign an agreement that for the rest of their lives and their kid's lives they will not receive a single penny's worth of welfare, unemployment, disability insurance, free lunch, housing assistance, affirmative action, disparate impact, et. al.

So the tax credit is with magic money?

The money that is "saved" from the tax burden wasn't going anywhere otherwise?

War On Poverty has cost $22 TRILLION (with a fricking "t") since 1965, and the meter is still running.

Enough reparations have been paid.

Yes, according to this board, tax credits are magical money that is of no cost to the tax payer. I hear that it's just the government letting you keep your money and that only liberals see tax credits as a form of spending.

You can stop the meter right now by using tax credits. Please show me where the government will actually have to SPEND any money in order to provide tax credits.

Are you against tax credits in general, or just when they are for black people?

The last person who had a legitimate claim to reparations died long long ago.

I will support giving african americans that bitch and moan about repartions and slavery a round trip ticket to Liberia and let them see the mess that their ancestors' labor saved them from. Of course they have to fly coach and I am not paying for bag fees (those things are a ripoff).

Ahhhh....that's the angle you are getting at.

So you really think that something like a tax system as convoluted as ours can be rendered so simplistic that a statement made for one thing can be blanket applied to everything.

Okay.

Most of the time I have seen the language you are speaking of was regarding blanket tax rate cuts.

Not highly targeted credits that only benefit a small segment of the country.

My plan is an improvement over the status quo. How will tax credits cost you anything?

I am against the entire concept of reparations. Enough has been paid.

All welfare at the federal level should be ended tomorrow.

Food stamps
Medicaid
S-Chip
AFDC
Section 8
Free phones

All of it.

Ends.

Tomorrow.

No problem. You wouldn't owe anything and you wouldn't have to pay ANYTHING with my plan. That's the beauty of it. Paying is ENTIRELY voluntary.

Nonrefundable tax credits are letting people who earn it keep their own money. Giving a tax credit to someone who does not pay taxes and allowing it to be transferable is in no way letting them keep their own money. Surely you are not this dumb.
