Second Best Hip Hop City

Obviously the East Coast/NY region is above and beyond any other region for Hip Hop in the US. Nobody comes close to the legends like Biggie, MF DOOM, Big L, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang, Gang Starr, Nas, De La Soul, Big Pun, Immortal Technique, Kool Keith, Pete Rock, etc.
In your opinion, which region of the US is the second most dominant in the Hip Hop industry. I'm not referring to current record sales or charts. I'm referring to over the history of Hip Hop, which regions has produced the best talent.
My Answer: Atlanta

I agree with all that except putting ATL above LA. The city itself blows arse but they have produced some heavy hitters.
