An article posted on the Arabic-language news website Akhbar 24 said the arrests came after the Kingdom's religious police got a tip about a home-based church. The report further noted that “distorted writings of the Bible were found and musical instruments, noting their referral to the jurisdictional institutions.”

The Saudi media reported different compositions of the arrested Christians. Some reports said the Christians were men and women, while the Saudi Gazette wrote that children, as well as men and women, were detained. It was unclear if a court date has been set in the notoriously opaque fundamentalist court system

they frick over probably 10s of thousands of people a year.

You think we should care because they also did it to some unnamed unknown Christians?

It is their country and they have decided it will be Muslim. No surprise here. Worry about how many of their imported laborers live in squalor and disappear if you're so magnanimous.

"Such actions are especially dangerous in the current situation, where the world is seeing the rise of extreme Islamist groups in Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Somalia and elsewhere,"

I tend to agree.

I don't really care what imaginary, invisible, middleastern man it is you pray to, and neither should US foreign policy.

Is this "Real Islam"? LINK

Or this? LINK

Illegal is illegal. Saudi just defines itself as a Muslim country and outlaws all other religions since it houses most of the major Islamic holy sites. In Kuwait, only Jews, Christians, and Muslims could openly practice (granted there aren't any Jews there anymore). Do I think it's stupid as hell? You better believe it, but you are talking about logic in a country where you can be sentenced to death for smoking pot and deported for having porn

Not entirely surprising.

I will agree that we should care that they are being persecuted regardless of religious affiliation.

This is the point I was trying to get at in my post. People seem to care about this for only 2 reasons
1) They are Christian
2) It happened in the Middle East

It happens in China this board tends to be silent. It happens to Hindus there this board won't say much.

But because it was a Muslim arresting a Christian then the world is ending and all Muslims should die.

Honestly, Saudi is one odd country. They outlaw religion, they outlaw alcohol, they outlaw movies, they outlaw music, they pretty much outlaw everything

Are Chinese extremists beheading Christians and Hindus?

Haven't seen that said in this thread.
