NASA will make a major announcement today at 4 p.m. EDT regarding the return of human spaceflight launches to the United States. The space agency said it will hold a news conference at Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 4 p.m. ET to discuss "the return of human spaceflight launches to the United States," according to a brief statement on its website.
NASA ended its Space Shuttle program in 2011 amid funding concerns and a shift in priorities to exploring deep space.
Under its Commercial Crew Program, NASA is expected to award a contract to one or more private aerospace companies to shuttle astronauts back and forth to the space station.

The leading contender is Boeing (BA), according to the Wall Street Journal. Other bidders include SpaceX, which is backed by Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, and Sierra Nevada Corp.

Going to war with Aliens is the only answer

They're going to admit to faking the moon landing.

Is Bruce Willis gonna have to drill a bitch?

As in the Fifth Element chick? I would drill that, too...

Right, but the news itself is pretty major.
Why trump it up about making a major announcement when you basically already said it in a press release?
NM, I'm reaching, sorry.

Curious to see....have a friend of my wife that works for a company that does work on the Spacestation for NASA. They are working out of NASA in Houston. She told my wife recently that due to cuts by the Obama administration, they now only get trash picked up in the offices once a week, and that the bathrooms are only cleaned twice.

"Major nasa announcements" for over a decade have been rather disappointing

Spaceships include unmanned flight.
I suppose he meant otherwise considering the thread subject.

For the astronauts sake, I hope they just didn't pick the lowest bidder like most other government contracts.
