Do you ever "mourn" a character's death? (warning: spoilers obviously)

I have. Like actually grieved for a couple of days after the character's death. A couple of examples are:

1. Dumbledore. I remember reading the book and totally being stunned. I kept waiting for him to come back to life or something. And it never happened. I literally mourned his passing for a couple of days. It felt silly, but I couldn't help it.

2. So I re-watched a lot of STTNG on BBC last summer. Then I decided to watch all the movies having never seen a couple of them. And when ______ died at the end of Star Trek Nemesis, I couldn't believe it. I was sad. I was in a funk all day. Still makes me sad to think about it now.

When Frieza blew up Krillin I was legit

ETA - LOST - When Charlie died in "Through the Looking Glass". That was rough. When Jin and Sun died too.

Many LOST characters death made me distraught and cry like a baby. The finale made me cry but also left me at peace wirh the whole series and character's journey.
I have goosebumps and on the brink of tears just thinking about it.

Sam from I am Legend
Jenny from Forrest Gump

I kinda know what your saying. I always get a weird feeling like I'm losing a friend when a show ends sometimes. When Fringe ended I was really missing Olivia Dunham character and as stupid as a show Trueblood is I always loved the Jason Stackhouse character. I didn't lose sleep or nothing but just hated knowing that these characters were gone forever.

Not sure I have ever hated a movie more and part of that hate is Stewarts fault for forcing nonsensical re-writes.

And I too was saddened by said death but also really pissed by the almost non reaction of the crew.

In the end, they treated him exactly the opposite way he would have liked to have been mourned.

I remember being in total shock when they killed Tessa off on Highlander: The Series.

I was young, but I never saw that coming

There were a few LOST characters that made me pretty sad too.

Charlie, the Jin's, the finale death's.

Strangely enough, Debra in Dexter got me pretty bummed out. She really grew on me throughout that show. I hated her in season 1.

Probably a lot of GoT examples.

After watching all of Firefly and Serenity, my daughter was crushed when her favorite character bought it at the end. She even has some of his t shirts.

The Red Wedding on GoT. When I read it and the Arya chapter afterward I had to put the book down for a few days. It was rough watching it too.

Old Dan and Little Ann in The Red Fern Grows. As a kid I was pretty damn distraught over their deaths.

Nate on Six Feet Under.

Denny on Grey's Anatomy. The feels.

ETA: Dr. Greene on ER. Cannot listen to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version without thinking about it.

Jimmy Malone in The Untouchables, though he did go out like a man.

Robert Vaughn in The Magnificent Seven.

Probably ought to put "spoilers" in the title.

Ugh. Denny was terrible IMO. Probably has something to do with our genders though. My wife was a fan of his.

Surprised no one has specifically said Oberyn yet.

Would A&E killing Walt Longmire count? I'm still grieving that

Oberyn was more angry than sad. I had "known" Dumbledore and _____ for years and it was like I lost a friend when they died.
