TUba seeks advice from runners

Result of TUba's daily running program - week 4.
1) everything above my knees feels 20 years younger.
2) everything from my knees on down, especially my right knee, feels 20 years older.
Seriously does anyone have advice for running with a bad knee? I have no fricking clue. Until a month ago I had been sedentary for basically 15 years.

I'd also add that it's better to do so at night when it's cooler and there is less traffic. It's also more beneficial to wear dark colors.

Mix up walking with running. Work in a few sprints. Just keep moving.

I had to give up running/jogging and now walk for cardio. After 3 months of that my knees were back in shape.

I'm in the same boat. Just started running again after a 15 year break and my right ankle feels like it was hit with a hammer. I'm gonna just try and keep on keepin on.

Do you take your buttplug out before you run? This may help. Or it may not.

My old first sergeant always said that the best thing for knee pain is to drink water, put on some boots, and go on a ruck march. Course, he had knee replacement surgery at 40. Worth a try.

Scale back some. Tried pushing through a knee injury this summer and paid for it

People are not designed to "jog". In what scenario would our forefathers needed to "jog". Run fast or walk were the only two speeds we are designed to move. Come to think of it, what animal "jogs" for any substantial distance? Just a retarded idea all around.

That's why we all come to the OT, to share our own personal experiences with others.

The only thing Sgt. Hulka wanted to train you to do was to be able to take a strategic hill within the next year, he wasn't worried about the condition of your soft tissues when you are forty or fifty.

Depends on what king of park I'm running in.
