Update:

Initially I was gonna waive either Sproles or Hill to pick up Davis since Charles is hurt but after last night I'm thinking that Sproles is gonna be pretty valuable this season

Should I waive either of them for Davis or just start Sproles and/or Hill with L Bell until Charles comes back?

Update over

So Jamal Charles is probably looking at at least a one month recovery period.

We're only allowed to have 4 RBs on the roster.

Currently I have:

1) Charles
2) L. Bell
3) J Hill
4) Sproles

I dont want to drop Charles or Bell obviously, but I think Kniles Davis is going to be a pretty decent fantasy RB while Charles recovers

Should I drop Hill or Sproles?

Non-PPR

This is dumb IMO. I hate leagues that limit you to only 4 RBs.

Sproles - although now that I've said that he will go for 40 tonight

Lol. Did you see Gio yesterday? Dude is an absolute beast. Hill is good and will get carries but no chance he passes Gio unless he gets hurt.

I agree with this.

Hill is getting work, but he's not the No. 1 and I don't see No. 1 in his immediate future unless there's an injury.

Back to OP. If your league waiver wire is like most and starts tomorrow, then wait to see what Sproles does tonight before you decide. I agree that Davis is the right start with Charles out, but Hill v. Sproles is difficult to say. Another way to view it is to see if there is an overlapping bye week. Byes will start before you know it and with a four RB limit and Charles taking up space, you could have an issue.

As long as Gio is healthy, Hill won't be the man. Gio will get majority of touches and snaps. I think yesterday's game is a good indicator of how they will be using both. Hill had 15 carries and 2 catches for 17 touches. Gio had 27 carries and 5 catches for 32 total touches.

And contrary to what some people say, Gio is a solid goal like RB. Since he's not a 230lbs bruising RB, people assume he's not a goal like RB. And that's wrong. Gio can hold his own in short yardage and goal line situations.

That said, I do think both guys will see enough action to be solid fantasy options. Especially with AJ Green hurt. But Gio is the man in Cincy.

And to the OP... non PPR i would drop Sproles.

Week 1 snaps
Gio- 57
Hill- 10

Week 2 snaps
Gio- 46
Hill- 33

Hill gained just 16 fewer rush yards on 12 fewer carries W2. The more Hill proves himself to be a stud, the more touches he will see. The Falcons are soft as baby shite; Hill may be called on more when facing tougher fronts.

I think both Gio and Hill will both be fantasy relevant. It will be a better version of the Bills ground game (which also looks strong).

also, on first down runs, Hill averaged 5.4 ypc, Gio was 3.3.

Bernard isnt going to phase out, but its clear Hill is a better runner and will continue to eat into Bernards carries.

By the end of the year you could have a borderline RB1

I see what you're saying but snaps don't equal touches, ask Shane Vereen Gio still had 32 touches and Hill only had 17. I don't see hill being the #1 back anytime soon

Drop Hill. Remember you're on an LSU site when asking for fantasy advice here
