A couple of observations....

After watching the ULM game tape closely, a few things I observed:
1. Porter not nearly as effective as Pocic at center.
2. Offensive Lineman leave need to stay in their lanes to offer a better pocket.
3. Anthony Jennings has a long way to go. Has one read and if its not open, he takes his
eye off of downfield and begins to try and escape pocket. Improving, but I don't see enough
to think we can survive this schedule with less than 3 losses.
4. Davon Godchaux has been a tremendous surprise in an area where we desperately needed someone to step up. Great strength at the point of attack. Honestly, cant remember a true freshmen
who was as impactful since B. McFarland.
5. Best secondary group I have seen at LSU. Thomas has emerged as another star.
6. Best overall depth I have seen at LSU.
SEC West is brutal. For the first time in many years, I think this game with MSU is going to be close, simply because I don't see enough on offense and they will move the ball some, despite our defense. We will have to win some close games this season or we could be in trouble.

Where did you get the coaches tape that shows the whole field of play?

not saying he doesn't but have you seen the blocking? should he take sacks or scramble?

You seriously break down film?

AJ panicked a few times with our 3-4 WR sets and tucked too quick.
On more than a few occassions, we had guys open

Agree, it is a concern. Rewatching the replay and on the firt possession for the tigers, AJ looks downfield, no one open, tucks it and runs through the middle. As he passes the center, the wideout on the right is wide open and AJ just lunges forward for a few yards short of the first. I guess he's going to need quite a few snaps to figure it out. Problem is BH is going to take some snaps from him.

I've read from multiple sources am that Jennings' best attribute is his ability to continue looking downfield when he scrambles.

Is that really a problem? Seems AJ is getting a whole lotta love, but upon further review, the love affair with the BU QB always comes into play...
Harris is still a little shaky to me, not ready for prime time, but I am sure he could get ready real quick, given the chance...just like in the 'skins camp, coozans looking good, for now...
Glad I aint a coach...

lmao
i do, but my dad is like 80 something and he watches lsu wins daily until the next game.the year we were 13 and 0 it seemed like we were 790 and 0. he's a big time contributor to the program and retired doctor and thats just his thing ya know.
so i do 'break-down film' but it happens by me just trying to get some time in with the ole man

Wow. What an amazing observation. You should get a job on the staff.

Yeah, but did they review the tape closely?

MSU is pretty bad on defense. We should be able to score, even with our offensive deficiencies.

at some point this season, we will have a dominating defense. dg has taken over 1 dt spot, 1 see adams taking over a safety spot and later on beckwidth takes over mb spot. we will have substantially upgraded defense up the middle which is the softest part of defense.

It's all about the OL fellas and they have been really, really disappointing. When AJ has had time he goes through is reads fairly well. If we can't protect against ULM, well you see where I'm heading.

Best secondary at LSU? They're good, but Did you see the 2011 team? Claiborne, tm7, Reid, and Taylor are quite possibly the best secondary ever in CFB. Not to mention Ron brooks coming in.
