I was at an event where the coach Berry spoke to some boosters (no link). He said that Les Miles doesn't get enough credit for the recruiting at LSU. He said recruiting is all about facilities. He said that while LSU does have great facilities, they are not the best in the country. He said that the LSU facilities would rank in the top 25, but not the top 5-10. He said most LSU fans don't realize this.

He said LSU fans seem to expect a top recruiting class each year and figure they could do it with or without Les. He believes this is not the case and that Les should get much more credit than he does. He had some other things he said positive about Les, but this is the one I found most interesting.

One man's opinion, but I do think Berry is a good coach and sharp guy. I was curious to see the recruiting board's opinion on the matter.

CSB...
LSU could use an upgrade in facilities. The lure of playing in Death Valley is enough for most kids thou.

The stadium and locker rooms just got a major upgrade. I imagine an upgrade to the Ops Center is going to happen in the next few years too.

The point the OP was making just flew way over your head.

We know Les can recruit. The point is that he is still doing so without being able to tout facilities like say....Oregon (dat Nike $$). That makes it even more impressive.

Hate some of these replies. Geez guys.

Thanks for posting. Todd Perry seems like a heck of a coach. He's right we don't have the best facilities but tend to get top 5 classes. Our coach is doing a fine job in recruiting.

Very nice guy and great coach.

From what I've heard our OPs building will be getting a makeover. Just in time too, imo.

More or less just being a smartass. Another coach is pointing out how important facilities are and that Les is recruiting better than most even with the nuclear arms race that is facility upgrades, and that's worth noting. We talked about this a little when the recruiting budget was being criticized. I believe every dime of that money should be put into making our facilities the best in the country.

I think he was joking but that you took it way too serious.

Every one here knows that miles can not only recruit, but can develop and coach his guys up.

Yup. and I agree completely. We should have top 5 facilities every year.

Again though, we literally had top 5 facilities 8 years ago. Things change soooooo fast.

Nah. Most good jetpacks have all of the bugs worked out.

Mine works great.
