I plan on watching Arrow but don't know if I can fit it in before The Flash debuts so I am curious if I will run into either scenarios that were set up in Arrow or if I will run into spoilers for Arrow.

Thanks

I just started (and finished) the Arrow. There are two episodes in season 2 that include the Flash character before he gains his power. My guess is the Flash will probably spoil some major events/deaths in regular dialogue because of the crossover.

No.

The origin of Flash is hinted at with the introduction of Barry Allen in Arrow. I've seen the pilot of The Flash and it shows you everything you need to know about him. Oliver from Arrow makes an appearance but only as a "mentor" so to speak. The Flash spoils nothing from Arrow or vice versa.

Yeah, but they are going to do crossovers this year. Felicity will crossover early in the Flash season, and then there will be a "double" crossover (a crossover for each episode back to back) later in the season. The first of the double crossover episodes is suppose to be titled Arrow vs Flash, and one of the showrunners said that the title is not deceiving (hinting that they will be at odds in it).

Yeah, but The Flash will be a stand alone show. I'm sure story lines will tie in to each other in the crossovers, but I doubt The Flash spoils anything in Arrow. Agents of Shield did a tie in episode with Captain America and it didn't have any major spoilers in it.

But it sounds like the OP won't be watching this season of Arrow (since they aren't caught up yet), so the crossover episodes will be an issue since they are basically a continued story.

Plus, the early Felicity crossover may have some dialog where they talk about the events at the end of Arrow season 2 (as kind of filler talk), you never know.

Watch Flash.

You'll want to catch up with Arrow as you're watching, but it won't interfere with your viewing of Flash.

Sounds like they're going to limit the crossovers to two per season.

Arrow is great. I watched the flash pilot before seeing an episode of Arrow and immediately binge watched the series in about 2 weeks

No it didn't. The fall of Shield? Fury? I saw Captain America just a few week ago. I felt like nothing was spoiled.

Hydra

those were pretty big plot points for CA, seeing shield first spoils CA big time.

Uh, yeah it did. Director Fury was revealed to be dead, a character mentions in passing how Captain America managed to defeat Hydra, and finally you have the actual take over of SHIELD by Hydra, revealing that Hydra is the villain in Winter Soldier.

Yeah...it spoiled quite a bit.

Was stated in the first 30 mins of CA.

I'll give you these two...maybe.

Look, those were plot points in CA, but not major spoilers. You knew all of this by watching the previews.

ETA: This thread has be sidetracked and I apologize.

For the OP..It is my opinion that you do not need to watch Arrow before the Flash. Others may disagree. However, you should watch Arrow and The Flash....IMO.

Not in the Winter Soldier. It wasn't revealed that Hydra was behind everything in the new movie until Captain America and Black Widow discovered that huge computer system in that bunker.

Yes, I'm serious. Director Fury was supposedly killed in the first 30 minutes of Winter Soldier. For those who hadn't seen the movie yet, and were watching Agents of SHIELD the week after Winter Soldier's release, the news of Nick Fury's "death" would be classified as a spoiler from the movie.

At comic con they said episode 8 of each season would be on the same night and it would be one 2 hour episode. SO basically one long crossover episode not two.

Not to mention AoS had footage of the heli-carriers exploding on the next episode after CA came out
