:CSBalert:

Daddy used to always use his belt ... and Daddy had about a 42-in waist.

He used to make us go get his belt ... he'd hang it on the back porch when he got home from work.

One time, I decided to divert to the bathroom ... thinking that if I stuffed my britches like the old Charmin commercials ... I'd miss some of the sting.

Kinda backfired ... I got two whippins ... one for whatever I'd done ... the other for wasting toilet paper.

My paw-paw (maternal) was a barber ... when he died, no one wanted his razor strap ... and, my brother and I all noticed Daddy locking in on it.

Luckily, he only used the razor strap for intimidation ... he always relied on old faithful, that long-arse belt.

I thank God for every arse-whippin' that I ever got. Better than growing up to be a no-account tPOS.

Marks from shoulders to ankles. I think he went overboard.

Who turned him in?

Also said scrotum was marked. So whipped naked too?

On the Blitz ... there was some commentary from Tom Jackson, Cris Carter, and Berman.

I guess those dudes had seen the photos ... or, at least Tom Jackson acted like he did ... and he seemed pretty somber about it.

Doesn't sound too good for AD...sometimes ... gotta stop and do the 'ole "count to 10"

Nah, I saw the pics, they are released. He turned himself in. Text the mother to let her know, she lives in Minn and he in Houston. He neighbors to my bro in law. Happened over a month ago.

The mother took him to a doctor who deemed it a form of abuse. fricking stupid.

Kid had pushed his brother off if a motorcycle arcade game and other bad things.

The worst thing he did was used a thin switch which made those skinny little red lines and looks worse than it is. Looks like he ran thru a broad patch with shorts, except on back of legs.

My understanding as well. Nothing wrong with a spanking. If welts and bruises are present that goes from discipline to abuse.

Great story beat a kid for their own personal betterment. The tpos part of the equation is certainly a point of perspective.

I used to have Harley Davidson imprints on my arse after getting a spanking as a kid but they went away in a few minutes. Bruises and welps yeah that is overboard.

Back in the day, the old man would stab us to death with an ice pick every night and then dance on our tiny, lifeless bodies singing "Glory Hallelujah."

There's a big difference between beating your kids and disciplining them even though the pain inflicted might be close to the same. I'll go on record saying I'm thankful my parents disciplined me. After being a parent, I now believe my old man was truthful when he said it hurt him more than it hurt me.

I was disciplined with both a switch and a belt as a child. I was pretty defiant

I would almost never find someone guilty of child abuse for disciplining in that manner. This case is that exception. From the pics, he went too far. I expected redness and may be a few whelps but he crossed the line.

However, I don't believe he should lose his job over this. How is he supposed to support his gaggle of children without his job? He definitely needs monitored visits for a while when he's with his kids.

ETA I've only whipped my child once with an open hand to his bottom for repeatedly running into the street and all other methods failed. It got his attention and it never happened again. I haven't needed to use whipping since then but would if nothing else worked. I would only use open hand to bottom though and only as a last resort.

Depends on the kids I think. My kids don't need it because they are pretty smart and reasonable. If you have dumbs kids I think they probably need to have things explained in a more forceful manner.

I didn't endorse (or not endorse) what AD has done. I don't know enough about it ... plus, it is none of my business.

I differentiate between a whippin' and a beating.

If you do not know the difference ... then you probably have never received either.

For example ... Momma used to take the fly swatter to my brothers and me. This was always the best scenario. All you had to do was fake it and scream bloody murder and make Momma feel bad.

Then ... when Daddy got home ... Momma would say, "Oh ... I handled it." And ... boom ... problem solved...no belt.
