it's 2014 and there's really no way to stream NFL games in HD in the US?

why is the NFL so fricking backwards on this? MLB.tv is the shite and worth every penny I pay for it each year. why doesn't the NFL do the same?

and why are the illegal streams such shitty quality? it's like watching a VHS from 1992. it's 2014, why are we still in the Stone Age?

The NFL sells an internet package to people living outside the US. Its awesome. You can stream every game in high def and they are available to rewatch when ever you like throughout the season.

The service is only available to those who: 1) live in apartment buildings where DirecTV service is unavailable; 2) live in metro New York, Philadelphia or San Francisco; or 3) attend college at Michigan (Ann Arbor), Alabama, Washington, Texas (Austin), USC, Florida, Colorado (Boulder), Syracuse, Ohio State or Harvard.

i think the NFL's deals with DTV were done prior to the proliferation of streaming HD

you'll likely see much better options with the next contract...whomever gets it (or if the NFL does it itself, like the NBA)

let me also add that i'm sure the networks have strong language in their deals about this

the NFL's bread and butter = network TV deals. streaming won't make up that difference

I don't understand why CBS and Fox, the NFL, or Direct TV don't steam games and just play the same commercials via the stream.

What an I missing?

Obviously Direct Tv wants me subscRibers.

What I don't get is if you have fox and cbs, why can't you stream the other broadcasts on those channels? Like if I want to watch the Texans in Chicago, why can't I just go to CBS.com and stream the broadcast with commercials and all?

It would make more sense to me, because fans of other teams are probably already not watching their broadcast on the tv channel

Is this what the package is called for if your apartment doesn't allow Direct TV?

No its for people outside the US since that's the market they give a frick about.

Heaven forbid Americans want to watch the NFL
