It doesn't matter where we are now.
Oklahoma plays West Virginia. If they beat them badly it could cause a change in a half dozen ballots. That would be enough to cost us about 30 points in the total poll. We already dropped in the AP and the margin between us at 2 and the #3 team gets slimmer each week.
I think a win keeps us at #2 but if it's an ugly 24-17 with Oregon looking good and OU smashing WV it could happen.

I would think most people are smart enough to realize the progression a team makes from game 1 to 4. A this point, it doesn't matter though (like you said).

A few thoughts...Alabama at #2 isn't happening for me. I'd have them around 5 or 6. Also, I can't drop Georgia that much after losing a tough game on the road.
