is a telling statistic. We play the offense we played last night until we get so far behind that we have no choice but to open up the offense (Wisconson game(the sam Houston game was an unusual aberration). We don't have to be the leader in come from behind victories, we could just start games with offense schemes that work. Of course the games are more interesting when you keep them close and stay in battles until the end.

While there is some truth to this, for every Troy on that list, is 2 or 3 incredibly gutsy performances against top tier teams, (2010 Bama, 2007 UF to name a couple).

Here's my suggestion. Put your brilliant observations in paragraph form and send them to the LSU football department, c/o Coach Les Miles. Stress the part about how you think "we could just start games with offense schemes that work". It's so simply brilliant that it's undeniable. Like discovering fire or the toaster oven.

LSU has the most come from behind victories under CLM than any other program during his tenure

Some folks go to great lengths and fantasies to discredit our coaching staff...I will admit I am a bit skeptical at times on why CLM does some of the things he does, and I truly believe he is not correct 100% of the time, but, all the man does is when 80% of the time...and it's hard to argue with success...

The O was actually more "wide open" early.
Read the bpb, stats etc and get back to us.

Or, maybe it could be that we're deeper than other teams. We stand toe to toe for a while and wear them down, taking over later in the game b/c they can't keep up with the backups.

passing occasionally does not equal wide open. We beat down ULM more or less.

that's exactly what we do, but we are not going to just line up and beat down Texas A&M or Auburn and certainly not Bama. Maybe we can just dial up an offense against those teams with out really working on it against the weaker teams on our schedule but why not work on it. The first goal is to win the west, to do that it would help to have an offense that will be able to move the ball against them.

true, not trying to knock Miles as I believe he is the best coach in college football today, (not the best recruiter as no one can come close to touching Saban in that area) but Miles does seem to have this one rather huge blind spot

exactly, those are the teams you just can't line up and beat down. We change up the offense once we get behind far enough against those teams in order to come from behind and get the victory. I'm just saying, why not use the second half Wisconson offense right from the start of the game on the very 1st play of the very 1st series. Don't get in a hole and win going away. Do it the easy way instead of the hard way. Doing things the hard way does build character though.
