Look at these past recruiting classes which is the make up of their juniors and seniors and some sophomores.
Texas did not have a single person drafted last year. NOT ONE!! And has been raped by BYU two years in a row who has an average recruiting class of 50+
Class Rankings
2011 Class
LSU 6 Texas 3
2010 Class
LSU 6 Texas 3
2009 Class
LSU 2 Texas 5

It helps your recruiting rankings when an alumni owns the company making the rankings. While Texas still hasn't developed what they've signed, their classes were more overrated than underdeveloped.

Rankings are about as accurate as the average financial advisors' opinions on what's going to happen in the market.
Just because they have an opinion on their own website doesn't mean much anymore.
It's entertainment and a revenue maker on speculation. It's good to ask their opinion for your curiosity but there are only three days that contain factual information.
-Signing day
-The day they report to campus( did he actually make it there?)
-The day they leave the program (did recruit actually succumb to or beat his expectations or hype?)
#3 relies on his will to succeed and if he is coached up well. And ultimately this is all that matters.

What we are seeing these days is the flip side of getting your classes over hyped. IMO, this was a big gamble that the gumps actually pulled off mainly because Saan oversigned so much at first that he was bound to get some good ones. after a couple of years, their classes actually were top three caliber even if their #1 ranking was often stretched.
Texas, on the other hand, was not recruiting top 3 caliber classes and their HC allowed his team to get a little lazy which totally killed them on that flip side where perception has to answer to reality.
And on the flip side of all of that is LSU and Les Miles. Les' classes have been under rated every single year and this was also a gamble by those recruiting service(s) who simply wanted to steer the Tiger's perception into the ground quickly enough for that perception to become reality. Les, however, is too solid and alpha for that shite and now we have the best staff at developing decent players into NFL rookies. No other team can touch the Tiger's staff and they are doing it with only one top five class every four years.
For that reason, we need to keep pushing the perception of LSU's staff being alpha developers because I promise you that this is a major thorn in the gumps (our biggest rival at this time) collective side.
