Are you considered an LSU alumni if you graduated from LSU med school but didn't attend undergrad there?

An alumni is anyone who attended a school. Don't even have to graduate.

Yes

And it's alumnus in the masculine singular.

Um, I don't think that's correct.

Alumni are graduates. If you didn't graduate, you are a "former student". Ever seen the "Former Student Association" bumper stickers that the Aggies have?

Nerp. An alumni is a graduate or former student.
(A common misconception)

Well, I still prefer my definition. There's quite a distinction.

Not surprising that the definition has changed over the years. Everyone is a special snowflake now.

That's just the aggie tradition. There are no alumni, just former students.

Your definition is actually the newer.

Sorry for assuming that actually graduating meant something.

I guess I can now change my resume and say I'm an alumnus and nothing will change.

I guess I got two degrees for nothing.

No you can say you are a "graduate"

They are just two words to mean two different things.

Alumni is just a broader category.

I looked it up and the definition does say former student or graduate. Which surprised me. So I'm an alum of like 9 different schools.

Yeah, seems weird, don't it?

Now I have ZERO incentive to join the LSU AA.

It's called "making a comment". Not melting.

Look it up.
