On the cord it says FOXCONN FF-05 7A 125V. It's for my Dell and when I unplugged it today, the 3rd prong stayed in the socket :/

I'm not finding that anywhere. I have found 125v with 2.5a and I have found 10a.

Does it matter? TIA

10 amp is fine. 2.5 amp won't charge it.

Wait, just the cord? Get one that looks about the same size.

Yeah, it's just the cord. It says 7a on it, but I find 2.5a or 10a. Better to go higher or lower or does it even matter?

Go higher. A circuit will only draw the amps it "needs".

the 2.5 AC cord will be fine. My dell brick says 1.5 amps AC.

Technically it should still work without the third prong.

I wouldn't do that. I have had a couple of bricks fail. Why risk it.

I went in to Radio Shack and bought a 10a 125v cord. Hopefully this will work as well. I can order a 2.5a on eBay easily if this doesn't work as RS has a 30 day return policy. Seems good so far.

How do they stay in business? People like me buying shite on the spot who can't really wait? I never do that, but this called for it.
