Since we've started the mustang package there have been regular instances of DEs lining up at DT.

I saw it...

Also saw Kwon play DE vs Wisky and Debo played some DE vs Sam Houston. I like it.

On passing downs it is a fabulous look! I am not sure why everyone doesn't do something like this.

I just can't believe we have 3 RS Freshmen on the team who are not up to game speed

Not only does this move provide more speed on the pass rush, but it also helps on screens and draws on 3rd & long situations. If a play like that pops, there's a better chance to track it down with this type of personnel.

Danielle Hunter is outstanding at chasing plays down from behind.

If there were a big-time playmaking DT in the lineup, then maybe Hunter stays at DE, but with this current group of DTs, I think it's a good move to have in the mix.

If Trindon Holliday can play DE, D Hunter can play DT

I cannot believe we are in the position we are in at DT. Lacouture and Thomas are playing b/c that's all we have, not the typical all SEC DT we are accustomed to. Its apparent that none of the other redshirts are ready to play. And who did we recruit at DT in the 2012 recruiting class?

I note that we failed to bring in a single DT recruit in 2012. this explains the glaring hole

We're definitely young and inexperienced at DT, but there is a big difference between Hunter "playing DT" and lining up there for a few plays in some pass rush packages to get more speed on the field. He isn't currently playing the position.

ETA: It's like saying a RB taking snaps in the wildcat is playing QB.

I totally get the point of D Hunter lining up at DT and we did this even when we had great DTs. In past 10 years plus, LSU has just manhandled opposing teams at the DT position.

I love Chavis' hybrid packages but I have to wonder if this idea came to the Chief after watching what Wiscy did to our OL in Hou.

I actually love when strong DEs play DT on passing downs.
