Parker Griffith just referred to me off air as "a p*ssy" "a piece of sh*t" and "motherf**ker". He also threatened to "whip (my) arse".

While I live on the Ga/Al line, I've seen absolutely no mention of him. No signs, no ads. Nothing.

I actually tuned in to listen to the interview because I knew the host would bring up the report that caused the dispute and wanted to hear Griffin's side of it. Unfortunately the host brought it up at the end of the interview when he was up against a break, and cut him off when he didn't like the answer Griffin started to give.

Dumb move by Griffin, but it's not like he had a legitimate shot of winning.

I think I have more problems with the radio host revealing a private conversation than the Democratic whi has ZERO SHOT at becoming Alabama governor.

A private conversation with the media. Tell me more.

Maybe this is why Bentley didn't want to debate him. I have no problem with Murphy talking on air about what happened. It's the world we live in. If Griffin doesn't have the nuts to stand behind what he said, maybe he should either not say it or choose different words.

Bentley won't debate him for 2 reasons. One, he has nothing to gain and everything to lose. And two, he knows he has a weak record and it will be attacked by Griffith.

We have 2 clowns to choose from to run our state, but that's not all that surprising.

Isn't he the guy that was a congressman as a dem. then changed to republican. Then lost in the primaries. And now is back to being a dem and running for governor?

I believe that Matt Murphy and Parker Griffin have gotten into it on air before. It seems like I remember listening to it when I was back home several months back.

Matt Murphy usually did a pretty good job taking pols on either side to task.

Yes. He voted against Obamacare as a US Rep, but then lost to Mo Brooks in the 2010 primary. The GOP dug up a report from the early 80's when he was an oncologist and the Huntsville Hospital stripped him of his admitting privileges due to what they deemed poor care. The settlement was supposed to be sealed, but someone obtained it and it was used to smear him. Griffith and some of his doctor colleagues claim they were bogus charges and no patients were even interviewed. The radio host and one the other hosts at the station got a copy of it and have been mentioning it on Twitter for a week or two now.

Griffith was an idiot to go on the show, given this host's history of interviewing people he doesn't agree with. His SOP is to bring up the controversial topic at the end of the interview when he's up against a break, then cut the person off and go to break without letting the person defend himself. He did it to Paul DeMarco a couple of months ago as well.

Good to know
I listened to WAPI daily before moving and enjoyed their lineup when they were FM.

I can't stand it now that it's on AM. I try to use the wapi app to listen to it but find myself annoyed half the time and turn it off. I'm a big Matt Murphy fan 85% of the time but sometimes he's just too over the top.

My favorite was always Richard Dixon because he was just funny as hell.

I agree the AM switch sucks. I have to use the IHeartRadio app to pick them up when I'm home- about 40-miles from their studios

If I listen to political talk now it's Leland live (used to do the afternoon show on WAPI) but he's on a different station now on at the same time as Dixon. At least it's an FM station that doesn't have shite quality.
