I guess if you were a real baller, you'd own the whole thing, but anyway...

If so, I have some questions, but initially: Do you own it for personal use or to make money or both?

I keep seeing nice Piper's and even a really nice Bellanaca for between 50-60k but I can't justify that.
Would go in a third or fourth though.

We have a 1/3 interest in a GIII but we're looking at going half in a G550 so we don't have to do the 2015 upgrades. Assuming you're looking for actual answers.

I ask because a friend owns one worth about $65k and wants to go into joint ownership with two or three others to raise some cash for another venture.

My ex wife boss (doctor) owned one, owned half of one, and owned a chopper.

I was at a bar last year and I made small talk with this guy. He was upset because his mother was dying. Anyways, he said he had to leave so he could catch his flight. I asked him where home was and he said, "Columbus". I replied, "Ohio?". He looked at me strange and said, "Mississippi".

That's only a 2 1/2 hour drive. Come to find out, he was a billionaire or something. Had his own plane. I'm jelly.

I take it you come from an incredibly wealthy family. Can we be best friends?

I wish. My dad's were single engine. I think the most expensive was like $180k

Now my uncle, who is actually more of a very close friend. The Hawker was like $8M, he also has kept a King Air 350 throughout and rotated jets and smaller props at varying times.

Before the financial crash they had 3 at one time

I wouldn't really call buying a plane a venture unless you use it to make money..otherwise it's more of a money pit.

It's just like a boat IMO.

Better to have a friend with a plane than to have one

It is pretty surreal though, the first time you drive up to one on the runway and hop out the car and on board and are wheels up in 10-15 minutes.
