The 94 yd TD reception Jennings to Dural was a thing of beauty, and may never be broken. Heard these 2 gave the game ball to Ensminger following the game...a very classy act. The previous record was 84 yds Ensmimger to Carlos Carson in 1979 against Rice (if I recall correctly). That game also was a blowout...77-0 with the student section chanting "we want a hundred" as the 4Q started.

I don't know. There are still 5 1/2 yards or so to play with.

Eh, it'll happen eventually. It's just a matter of time.

Eventually, every school's longest TD reception record will be 99 yards.

84 yards was quite low imo, surprised it lasted that long.

Lol no. I looked it up to see and most schools are low mid 80's to mid 90's. But this was interesting.

Those are passes with yards after catch. According to the NFL, the longest pass with no YAC was an 83 yard pass from Don Meredith to Bob Hays. Outside of an official NFL game, it is reported that Terry Bradshaw once threw a pass from goal line to goal line (100 yds in the air) at a football camp in Louisiana. The longest collegiate "in the air" pass is recorded as 96 yards, on two separate occasions.

I remember Sid Crocker talking about this game on Channel 9 during his weather broadcast wishing he was there. I was in the 9th grade.

I was there. Carlos Carson was not just unstoppable, he was untouchable in that game. I swear his uniform looked as clean as a kicker's afterward. LSU could easily have scored 100 if Cholly Mac had allowed it.

Not trying to be too picky, but actually, LSU vs Rice - 77-0 was in 1977 (not 1979). I was a junior in high school in Lake Charles and attended the game in Baton Rouge. David Woodley and Steve Ensminger shared QB duties and Carlos Carson was the wide receiver. Caught 4 from Ensminger and 1 from Woodley, if my memory is correct. It was "go long Carlos and I'll throw it to you" day, except the long pass was actually like a wide receiver screen that Carlos took the distance.

CC had five catches in the game, obviously all for TD's.

There's no objective reason to believe any record, if there is room to better it, can't be broken.

99 yard pass completion for TD is quite amazing...I would guess most teams would elect to run until a fortunate 1st down or punt to escape the endzone...

Well that's retarded, of course every TD pass of 90+ yards will have YAC

NFL record has to be Brady a couple of years ago against the Dolphins. He had a 99 yarder to Welker
