Best Headphones For Traveling

I'm getting a jump start on Christmas this year. My teenage nephew wants headphones. Mostly for listening to movies/music on his laptop or tablet and music on his iphone. He is pretty mobile with his stuff, so they need to travel well.
He isn't too interested in Beats b/c he knows they're mostly hype but he would like a semi stylish pair. He's not interested in fat, black cans on his ears.
So do any of the better brands like Audio Technica, Sennheiser, Klipsch, Sony etc offer headphones similar in style to beats? Mainly he likes the smaller, slimmer design. Oh and under $100.
Thanks!

I don't mean to phone this in, so to speak, but just flip through this guide and ignore the options over $100. As far as over-ear and on-ear headphones are concerned, this is a group of extremely knowledgeable people critiquing every last thing about the headphones. Given this is for your nephew and not yourself, you may, perhaps, focus on price, sound quality (general), and style as opposed to the "color" of the sound and the intricacies of the reviews. You're really not going to get a better-thought-out or explained review on here.
ETA: If I were to suggest one pair, though, it would be the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear cans. As linked, they're on a flash deal for $99 to fit the budget requirement, though you're tied to blue. They come in a ton of colors and usually retail closer to $130.

Have these. They're very solid for your purpose.
