For me. Please.

All I know is Rice knocked his wife out back earlier this year in an elevator, an a tape just came out. How does this translate into Goodell getting run off?

Serious question here. I have no idea what's going on.

Goodell suspended Rice 2 games a month ago. People assumed Rice and his wife were mutually fighting.

Tape comes out a couple days ago. Rice just blasted her and she wasn't fighting back.

People outraged. Goodell says he's outraged too and said he tried to get that tape but neither the police or casino would show him, so he had no idea what happened in the elevator.

Police come out today and said they showed the NFL the tape months ago.

Goodell fricked.

They gave him a light suspension and claimed the video supported it (implying it was a self defense). The video was not shown to the public. When the video leaked, it was much worse than the impression they gave. They immediately kicked him out of the league, and claimed they had never seen the video before, contradicting what they had said earlier. Now the AP has proof they had seen it before. Proof of a cover-up.

People were also outraged at the 2 game suspension. The NFL sent some lackey on an ESPN morning radio show to defend it and it was a shite-show.

Rice was only suspended for two games innitially.

It wasn't until the video was released by the media that he was cut from the Ravens and suspended from signing with another team, ect.

Goodell preaches player safety but seemingly turns his head when one of his players Mike Tyson's a woman.

Players like Josh Gordon and Matt Prater were suspended for things that were much more questionable than what Rice did.

He also denied seeing the elevator tape that shows the punch, however it was revealed today that the league was sent the video in April.

I asked this question in another thread

I haven't really been following this, so someone please explain.
What would Goodell's reasoning be to only give Ray Rice a slap on the wrist (2 game suspension)?? Why would he protect RR and/or the Ravens organization if he already viewed the tape in its entirety? ...

That's what I don't get.

What's in it for the NFL to lie about the tape and go light on RR?

Not saying it didn't happen, I just don't see what would be in it for Goodell or the NFL.

protect the overall image of the league. He didn't want the shite-storm the video would've created, so he tried to hide it and downplay it. Now he's in a much bigger shite-storm

You're right. Video of Ray Rice acting like an animal would've been wonderful for the league's image. I'm sure he wasn't worried about that at all.

Especially because the NFL has been working their tail off to gain more women viewers.

And they've been pretty successful so far.

This video would have been a big blow to all of that work.

I'm usually not one to believe in conspiracy theories because motive is where most of them usually fall apart. But that motive is certainly plausible.

Have we ever seen a video like that? An NFL player knocking a woman out cold? I can see him wanting to keep it quiet.
